How to Specify Plastic Mulch Film
The most useful quotation starts with the farm’s actual bed, crop and planting requirements—not a guessed standard roll.
Information needed for an accurate quotation
- Film colour: black, black-grey or white-black.
- Roll width: based on the prepared bed and the film required for securing at both sides.
- Roll length: based on row length, field layout and handling preference.
- Thickness: state the required micron rather than assuming a standard.
- Punched or unpunched: confirm whether planting holes are required.
- Hole layout: provide hole diameter, number of rows, spacing and position. An 80 mm hole option is available, but the complete pattern must be confirmed.
- Quantity and timing: include the number of rolls and required delivery period.
- Destination: provide the delivery town or confirm factory collection.
Avoid specification mistakes
Width, thickness and length are separate measurements. Record width in millimetres or metres, thickness in microns and roll length in metres. For punched film, a sample drawing or marked bed plan reduces the risk of incorrect hole spacing.
Made-to-specification production
Polywrap manufactures agricultural film to confirmed specifications. Production feasibility, minimum quantities, lead time, pricing and delivery are confirmed in the formal quotation.
